Devotional: Luke 15:24 “For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.”
In the well known story of the prodigal son, we know of how the Lost became found. Deeper still is the truth that the son knew the FATHER and yet chose to become Lost in the things of this world. Romans 5:8 “but GOD shows HIS love for us in that while we were still sinners, CHRIST died for us.”
The FATHER knew us from the beginning, well before our birth. Thus I sincerely believe that the greatest love is CHRIST’s for us. We cannot equal the level nor depth of HIS compassion and affection for HIS children which we are. So, those who have fallen so far and have been shown HIS Light anew….glory! What joy and hope they have! So, without advocating Sin to then rebound from, still we all struggle and to rest in HIS finished work…is truly a blessing.
Therefore, I admonish and encourage you, Beloved! Live with the passion and the zeal of a “Paul”…whose extreme love for the LORD came at a high price. “Forced Surrender” on the road to Damascus. What a position we are in! Willingly and with haste accept Defeat in the flesh and embrace HIS victory…by doing so!
Amen and amen!
Lost Love’s LORD
“Lost love” is the greatest of all possible affections
with an absence of such challenge which is known.
“Lost love” overcomes attack and wins through wholesurrender.
Thus, unequaled…so it stands upon its own.
For Love which forfeits everything cannot be chained to“loss”.
Only “gain” can fill the heart of such a soul!
Thus “once was Lost yet now am found” compels my adoration
for the ONE whose righteous blood has made me whole!
